Rene Kremisis

Rene joined Phelps Reid Foster Johnson in 2013 as an Assistant until she graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelors of Laws. Rene obtained her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2019 and was subsequently admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of the ACT and High Court of Australia in December 2019. Her numerous years with the firm has equipped her with experience in many fields including Commercial Law, Property Law, Wills and Estates and Family Law.

Rene has predominantly worked in our Family Law Team providing her with an understanding of parenting, property, child support and maintenance matters. She assists clients to make informed decisions and to reach a final agreement through amicable means although she has a thorough understanding of the litigation process and can appear in the Family Law Courts.

Rene has been a part of our Estates Team for a significant period of time and has excellent knowledge of estate planning and administration in the ACT and NSW jurisdictions. She regularly drafts Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Superannuation Death Benefit Nominations to ensure that clients have a complete estate plan.

Last but not least, Rene also advises clients on a range of commercial matters including commercial leasing and has experience in property transactions in the ACT, NSW, QLD and VIC.

Rene is committed to achieving the best solutions for her clients in an empathic, pragmatic and cost-effective manner.

On the weekends, Rene likes to spend time with her hairless cat (affectionately known as “Dobby”) and her curly-haired cat, (known as “Bee”). Rest assured, Rene is not a crazy cat lady and otherwise has normal interests such as binge-watching Netflix series and YouTube tutorials.

Rene is a member of the ACT Law Society, Women Lawyers’ Association of the ACT, Canberra Region Family Law Professionals and Canberra Collaborative Family Lawyer Practice Group.
