Courtney Mullen
BEC/LL.B (ANU), Partner

Courtney is the newest addition to our firm, joining us as Partner with significant experience in litigation and collaboration. Courtney is a long-time Ken Behren who holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University, along with her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with distinction.

While at the ANU, Courtney shadowed an Associate at the Family Court of Australia and spent three years working in the family law, dispute resolution and client services sections at Legal Aid ACT. Upon her admission to practice, Courtney began practising in Canberra at a boutique estate and family law firm and later joined one of Canberra leading family law and estate firms, rising quickly to become a director. Courtney went on to establish and build the Canberra office for a publicly listed family law firm, and now has joined us!

Courtney's love for numbers and finding a creative solution to any problem mean she has an affinity for complex property settlement matters. She also litigates in matters where there is intractable conflict, including in parenting matters involving the relocation of a child.

Courtney understands that for many of our clients, their first interaction with a solicitor or the legal system is when they come to see us. She works empathetically with clients to recognise their objectives and goals and will tailor their options for process and case strategy to reflect this.

Courtney is a committee member for the ACT Law Society’s Family Violence and Children’s Committee and regularly volunteers for the Women’s Legal Centre ACT. She is also a sessional academic at the ANU.
